The Raise

One of the biggest frustrations we hear from our community (you!) is about fundraising. Especially for first-time founders, this can be pretty murky territory…there are confusing terms, a brand of math that they don’t even teach in school, and an alarming number of predatory practices that can hurt founders and tank companies. And then there’s the bias that women face when trying to fund their companies, from banks, from investors, even from the programs that are supposed to help, like incubators and accelerators. It’s no wonder that funding companies is consistently rated one of the biggest issues keeping founders up at night!

This is why we created The Raise. We wanted to design a program by women, for women that would help female founders develop the savvy and confidence needed to effectively navigate the fundraising process. A multi-week workshop, The Raise includes a tailored overview of the key players, terms, concepts and strategies that are essential to a successful raise as a woman-led company, as well as a final “capstone” that helps participants connect with the most appropriate source of capital for their companies.
